A document-case form of the Kelly; the name recalls Sac à Dépêches, the bag's name before it became the Kelly.
Read the Kelly Dépêches referenceEtain is a cool, medium gray that functions as a true neutral. Togo is an unusual leather choice for the Dépêches format, where Epsom is the standard. Togo's tumbled grain gives the flat panels a softer hand and more textural surface than the typical pressed-grain Epsom execution. The trade-off is that Togo will not hold flat rigidity as firmly as Epsom over time. Palladium hardware keeps the composition cool-toned throughout.
Collector's Insight:
Togo on the Kelly Dépêches is a less common specification than Epsom. Most Dépêches production uses Epsom for its panel rigidity, making a Togo version a quieter, more tactile variant. Etain in Togo reads warmer and more dimensional than it does in Epsom, where the pressed grain flattens the color into a uniform surface.
Resale Insight:
Kelly Dépêches bags trade below structured Kelly bags but above SLGs. Etain is one of the most versatile neutrals in the Hermès palette. Togo adds a point of differentiation from the more common Epsom Dépêches listings on the secondary market.
