JANEFINDS

How JANEFINDS Authenticates

Every piece on this site has passed Jane's hands. No exceptions. This is how a piece is authenticated before it is offered.

  1. Authenticated in person, in house

Every piece is authenticated in person, in house, and individually inspected.

  2. Read against Jane's archive

Every piece is authenticated against Jane's private archive: a working reference library spanning decades of production, covering leathers, hardware, colorways, and craft details.

  3. Graded on the JANEFINDS Standard

Every grade is assigned by hand after in-person authentication, on the five tiers of the published Condition Guide. Where a piece sits between tiers, we grade conservatively and disclose specifics in the listing.

  4. Described on the listing

What we call Excellent is defined in writing, photographed in detail, and stated on every listing.

  5. Shipped with a certificate

Every piece ships with a JANEFINDS Certificate of Authenticity.

Who issues the opinion. Hermès states that it cannot guarantee or verify items purchased outside an official Hermès point of sale. A JANEFINDS assessment is our own, not a certification issued by Hermès.
