Meet the founder
Jane Angert
Jane Angert has spent more than 30 years studying, collecting, and authenticating Hermès handbags. Her private archive is one of the most comprehensive in existence — a working reference library that spans decades of production, covering leathers, hardware, colorways, and craft details that few outside the ateliers have documented.
When Jane entered the secondary market, pre-owned luxury carried a stigma. Resale was an afterthought — consignment shops, estate sales, transactions conducted quietly and without standards. There was no infrastructure for authentication, no shared language for condition, and no expectation of transparency. Jane helped change that. She brought the same rigor to resale that the maisons apply to production: meticulous documentation, verifiable provenance, and a level of expertise that gave collectors — and eventually the auction houses themselves — a reason to take the secondary market seriously.
That work helped build the foundation for what is now a multibillion-dollar global industry. The platforms that exist today operate in a market that Jane and a small number of pioneers made credible. JaneFinds holds the record for the highest authenticated Hermès resale transaction — over $2.2 million — not because of spectacle, but because buyers at that level require absolute certainty. Jane's three decades of scholarship are what make that certainty possible.
She didn't set out to rebrand pre-owned luxury. She simply refused to treat it as lesser. The result: a business where provenance, condition, and historical accuracy are the standard, not the selling point.

PROCESS
Jane works differently depending on where you are. If you are new to Hermès, she will teach you what matters: construction, leather selection, hardware, proportion. Your first piece should be the right one, not the available one.
If you have been collecting, the conversation changes. Jane studies what you own and identifies what is missing: the colorway that completes a rotation, the leather you have not considered, the single-season configuration. She knows what is becoming scarce before the market does.
Every piece we present has already passed Jane's review. No inventory padding. No aspirational listings. If it is on our site, she would carry it herself.
