Hermès Unique Silk ‘Art des Steppes’ Yurt Runway Bag - 1991
This unique bag, created for the 1991 runway collection with Annie Faivre’s new scarf design “Art des Steppes,” is one of the most unusual and striking Hermes designs ever realised. Shaped as an elaborate Yurt with three openings at the top mimicking the petals of a lotus flower, the concave back rests perfectly against the body. The unique strap allows for easy use, or can be switched for any other strap. This is a piece that not only looks great on the arm, but also on the shelf. Covered in silk inside and out, this bag has been maintained in exceptional condition, a true collector’s piece.
The term "hardware" refers to the metallic parts of the bag, such as the buckle hardware, base studs, lock and keys and/or strap, which are plated with a colored finish (e.g. gold, silver, palladium). The terms refer to the tone or color of the hardware and not the actual material used. If hardware is composed of precious solid metals this will be referenced in the description.
