A one-of-a-kind creation from Hermès's Petit H atelier, founded by Pascale Mussard on the principle of "creation in reverse": artisans build objects around whatever archival materials are available rather than sourcing materials to fit a predetermined design. This piece starts with two shells of handwoven Osier (willow) wicker, the same material used in the Picnic line, joined by a Malachite Epsom leather hinge and wristlet strap. Inside, a silk insert protects the contents. The silk is repurposed from the house's scarf production, which means the specific pattern inside this piece is determined by what was available in the atelier at the time of construction.

Malachite is a deep, saturated green with cool undertones. On Epsom the color holds evenly across the pressed grain surface of the hinge and strap. The combination of blonde wicker, deep green leather, and printed silk is specific to this individual piece; Petit H does not produce in runs or repeat configurations. Two-shell clamshell format, compact enough to carry as an evening clutch by the wristlet strap.
