The Hermès Passe-Guide is an archival piece that ranks among the most technically complex bags the maison has ever produced. Named after an equestrian harness guide, this vintage example is constructed in the Sellier style, utilizing rigid outer stitching to maintain its distinct, rounded architecture. It is crafted from Shiny Porosus Crocodile, the premier exotic skin identified by the caret symbol, and rendered in Ebène, a deep, blackened brown that offers a softer, warmer alternative to Noir.
The bag is celebrated for its whimsical anthropomorphic hardware, where the gold turn-lock clasp resembles a smiling mouth, flanked by two purely decorative Clou de Selle "eyes". The interior is lined in smooth Lambskin, a hallmark of vintage luxury. Preserved in excellent condition with shiny skin, intact gilding, and only micro-scratches on the hardware.
