Pampilles is the French word for tassels and fringe, a motif Hermès has used across scarves, charms and small leather goods but only rarely on its bags. On this Kelly 20 Mini II Sellier, hand-cut leather fringe hangs below the front sangle in a staggered double row, each strip cut by hand and edge-finished so no raw leather shows.
The fringe alternates two leathers: glossy Tadelakt and smooth, structured Sombrero with a quieter matte surface. The back, sides and base stay clean Tadelakt, which keeps the fringe to the front of the bag, and palladium hardware holds the Sellier frame's cool, sharp line.
Collector's Insight:
The Pampilles belongs to a small group of Mini Kelly editions defined by construction rather than color, alongside the Mini Kelly Picnic in wicker and the Kelly Doll. Output is limited at the cutting and edge-finishing stage, since every strip is cut and finished individually.
