Hermès Kelly Pochette Rouge de Coeur Shiny Alligator Mississippiensis Gold Hardware

Kelly Pochette in Rouge de Coeur Shiny Alligator Mississippiensis with Gold hardware. Rouge de Coeur is a vivid orange-red with pure warmth and no brown or blue pull, brighter and more saturated than Rouge H, closer in register to a clean vermillion. On shiny alligator the pigment reaches its maximum intensity across the polished tile surface, with deeper red pooling into the scale channels and a translucent warmth catching on the raised centers. The high-gloss finish amplifies every shift in light, turning the bag into a reflective object that changes character depending on angle and ambient conditions.

Alligator Mississippiensis is distinguished from Niloticus and Porosus crocodile by its smaller, more uniform scale pattern and the absence of the umbilical scar found on crocodile skins. The American alligator's tighter, more regular tile grid produces a cleaner visual rhythm on the bag's surface, particularly at compact sizes where the pattern has fewer tiles to work with. The shiny finish is achieved through agate stone buffing that polishes the scales to a mirror-like sheen. Gold hardware reinforces the warm register of the red. Interior is lined in matching tonal leather. Single flat top handle with the Kelly's tournante closure.

All protective plastics remain on the hardware.

Collector's Insight: Kelly Pochettes in shiny exotic skins occupy a narrow production tier. The format is already among the most difficult Hermès pieces to acquire at retail in any leather, and exotic allocation adds a second gate. Alligator Mississippiensis in shiny finish requires client purchase history with exotic-capable boutiques, which is separate from standard leather allocation. Rouge de Coeur on this material combination is an uncommon specification, as most exotic Kelly Pochettes appear in neutral tones (Noir, Gold, Etoupe) or in the jewel-tone exotics that dominate auction visibility (Bleu Electrique, Vert Émeraude). A saturated orange-red sits in its own category: vivid enough to read as a statement piece without the cool distance of the blue-based exotics. Y stamp places this at 2020, production that predates the subsequent retail price adjustments.

Resale Insight: Exotic Kelly Pochettes trade at substantial premiums over leather equivalents, typically three to five times the price of the same silhouette in Swift or Epsom. Shiny alligator in a vivid color gives this unit immediate visual recognition at distance, a quality that matters at the evening-piece tier where the bag functions as visible statement rather than utility. Pristine condition with plastics intact on a 2020 exotic piece indicates the bag has been stored rather than carried. Full set with CITES is the strongest possible provenance package for an exotic piece and is required for any serious secondary market placement.
