The Kelly Doll Picto is the 2022 update to Jean-Louis Dumas' original Year 2000 Kelly Doll, redesigned with a pixelated, 8-bit aesthetic applied to the figurative face and body. The leather marquetry that forms the facial features uses sharp geometric cuts rather than the softer curves of the original, requiring precise edge-painting at each pixel junction. Epsom leather is the functional choice here, as its rigidity holds the angular lines of the marquetry without softening at the edges.
Mauve Sylvestre forms the body, a dusty pastel lilac. Chai provides the neutral tone for arms and feet. Lime defines the pixelated eyes and smile in a bright contrast against the muted body. The detachable Nata backpack pouch adds functional capacity to what is otherwise a collector-scale object. A removable shoulder strap differentiates the Picto from the handheld-only original.
