Hermès Kelly Danse II Ombré Salvator Lizard Palladium Hardware
Hermès Kelly Danse II Ombré Salvator Lizard Palladium Hardware
Ombré is the lizard left alone: the natural ring pattern of the Salvator skin, dark centers graduating to cream edges, undyed so the animal's own coloration carries the bag. No two skins repeat, which makes each Ombré piece effectively a one-of-one, and because there is no pigment to hide behind, the skin selection must be flawless before a single panel is cut. The principle collectors compare it to is the Himalaya, except here the graduation is not a dyeing technique but the scale structure itself.
The Kelly Danse II is the multi-wear Kelly, reissued in 2019 from the Gaultier-era original: a flat envelope silhouette with the full tournante closure and a single adjustable strap that converts it between crossbody, shoulder, waist, and back carry, or comes off entirely to leave an evening clutch. Exotic Danse production is a fraction of an already limited run, and the natural ring pattern moving across the convertible format means the bag reads differently at every position it is worn. Palladium hardware recedes into the skin's neutral palette rather than competing with it.

Collector's Insight:
Ombré lizard sits in the narrowest lane of the exotic program: the undyed finish demands the highest-grade skins, ring definition and even graduation vary bag to bag, and well-patterned examples are the ones collectors compete for. On the Danse II the pattern earns something no fixed-format bag offers, presenting differently worn at the waist, across the body, or carried in hand. Exotic Danse examples of any skin surface rarely; Ombré Salvator on this format is among the scarcest configurations the model has carried.
Resale Insight:
Ombré lizard trades on pattern quality above all, with sharply ringed, evenly graduated skins commanding the category's premiums, and the natural finish draws the same buyer pool that pursues Himalaya pieces: collectors who prize the skin over the color chart. The Danse II adds a second demand stream from collectors of the multi-wear format, where exotic supply is structurally thin. A pristine full-set example combines the strongest version of both stories.
