The story behind the Kelly Cut
Introduced in 2008 as the successor to the Kelly Longue, which was discontinued that year. The clutch expression of the Kelly: the same turn-lock closure and signature flap in a flat, elongated east-west format.
Discover Hermès Kelly CutMykonos Blue, named after the iconic Greek island, is a mesmerizing, vibrant shade of blue that evokes visions of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. This captivating color, celebrated for its brilliance and versatility, provides a striking contrast against the refined elegance of the gold hardware, enhancing its allure as a collector's piece.
Collector's Insight:
Porosus Crocodile production is constrained by raw material scarcity and limited annual output. Allocation within Hermès exotic bag production is among the most selective in the house.
Resale Insight:
The Kelly Cut occupies a distinct clutch niche within the Kelly family, and exotic examples reach the market far less often than the handbag formats. Vivid exotics like Mykonos concentrate demand among evening and collection buyers alike.
