Kelly Belt in Matte Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile with 18K White Gold and Diamond hardware. The Himalaya coloring is achieved through a multi-stage dyeing process that graduates from dark smoky gray at the edges to pale cream at the center; the name refers to the visual effect, not the origin. Each crocodile hide produces a unique gradient, and the matte finish is achieved by tumbling the skin without a final glaze.
The Kelly buckle closure is solid 18K White Gold set with approximately 4.73 carats of diamonds, VVS clarity, F color. The buckle mechanism functions identically to the standard Kelly tournante closure; the diamond setting does not alter the hardware operation. The belt is fully adjustable across a range of 60 to 100 cm (23.6" to 39.4"), and the matte Niloticus has a soft, flat hand with the scale pattern visible along the full length of the strap.

Collector's Insight: Diamond Himalaya pieces require coordination between the leather atelier and the jewelry workshop: the 18K White Gold buckle is cast and set separately, then mounted as a finished jewelry component. Standard Kelly Belts use plated hardware; the precious-metal and diamond version is produced in quantities small enough that Hermès does not maintain standing inventory, and each belt's hand-dyed gradient is singular to its hide.
Resale Insight: Diamond Himalaya accessories are produced in lower quantities than Diamond Himalaya bags, and the belt format places precious hardware on a piece that sees direct wear, so most surviving examples show use. A pristine current-production example is the exception, with value anchored by the white gold and stones beneath the scarcity.
