Hermès Club Birkin 30 Gold Clémence Marron d'Inde Ficelle Lizard Permabrass Hardware

The Club Birkin is a limited-edition construction defined by a vertical contrasting band sewn into the front and back panels, a technique requiring assembly precision above standard Birkin production, and it appeared only in restricted seasonal windows. This 30 combines three materials: the center band runs a strip of Marron d'Inde, a deep saturated chestnut brown, flanked by two narrower strips of Ficelle lizard, a cream-beige exotic in fine-scale pattern, set into a Gold Clémence body.

Gold is one of the house's original permanent-palette colors and its most consistently demanded warm neutral, and Clémence's pebbled grain, softer in hand than Togo, suits the Club's multi-material assembly. The lizard strips catch light differently from the surrounding calfskin, drawing a graphic dimensional line down the bag's central axis, and Permabrass hardware, a warm bronze-champagne finish sitting between Gold and Brushed Gold, completes the earth-toned palette. Interior lined in matching Chèvre with one zip pocket and two slip pockets.

Collector's Insight:
The Club program ran across the Birkin 30 and 35, and most documented secondary-market examples surface in the larger size, making the 30 the rarer format within already-restricted output. Permabrass on a 2012 piece is itself notable: the finish appeared in limited Special Order capacity before its broader rollout, and its presence here reinforces the edition positioning. The tricolor band in an all-warm palette is among the quieter Club executions, closer to the house's saddlery tones than the high-contrast versions.

Resale Insight:
Club Birkins trade outside standard Birkin pricing dynamics, with valuation anchored to the construction and multi-material specification rather than color-and-leather tiers. Condition separates examples sharply: intact lizard scales with no lift at the band edges, no panel softening at the corners, and protective plastic still on the hardware, as here, represent the strongest possible positioning for a piece stored largely unused since boutique acquisition.
