The Cadena Bag takes the form of the Hermès padlock, scaled up into a box-shaped handbag with a rigid, square silhouette. The body is Rouge Veau Doblis suede, a fine-napped material with a velvety surface that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. The boxy construction features panel seams that echo the keyhole and face of the Cadena lock design. A gold clasp closure at the top completes the lock reference.
The handle is wrapped in a multicolor printed silk, and the bag features multi-tone leather fringe tassels in orange, yellow, and pink cascading from one side, adding a burst of color against the red suede body. The Cadena Bag was a limited production piece, not a mainline style, and its sculptural lock silhouette places it in the category of Hermès novelty objects where form references the house's own hardware vocabulary.
