Hermès Birkin 30 Officier Bleu Nuit Vert Cyprès Togo Swift Palladium Hardware
The Officier series introduced a graphic element to the Birkin silhouette: dual vertical stripes running the height of the bag, positioned where rank insignia would sit on a military tunic.

The story behind the Birkin
Originated in 1984 from a conversation between Jane Birkin and Hermès Executive Chairman Jean-Louis Dumas; its structural lineage traces to the Haut à Courroies. Familiar sizes are 25, 30, 35 and 40 cm, alongside miniature, shoulder and travel versions, in both Retourné and Sellier construction.
Discover Hermès Birkin BagsThe reference is deliberate but understated; you'd have to know what you're looking at to catch it. Hermès released the design in limited quantities beginning in 2018.
Thirty centimeters in Bleu Nuit Togo with Vert Cyprès Swift stripes and interior lining. Bleu Nuit reads as deep navy, nearly black in low light, revealing its blue character under direct illumination. Vert Cyprès is a dark forest green; the two colors share enough depth to coexist without competing. Togo for the body provides pebbled grain and structural resilience; Swift for the stripes delivers smooth contrast and sharper color saturation. Palladium hardware keeps the palette cool throughout.
Collector's Insight:
The Officier Birkin ranks among the more distinctive limited editions of the past decade. The stripe detail reads as design decision rather than decoration; it changes how the bag photographs and how it pairs with clothing. This colorway combines two dark neutrals that function year-round without seasonal limitation.
Resale Insight:
Officier editions trade at premiums over standard Birkins in equivalent condition. Limited production and the design's departure from core inventory ensure continued collector interest. Excellent condition with dust bags and raincoat strengthens positioning for secondary market transactions.
