Birkin bags are known for being hard to get, always ‘sold out’ in stores, being offered even a simple leather Birkin is never guaranteed. Some Birkins, though, are rare on a level that goes far and beyond the rest. These super collectible grail pieces are often made of unusual materials, like this 35cm example in Black Veau Velours Suede. All suede Birkins are rare. Grizzly Suede bags are the most common, with leather handles and trim, but Doblis Suede bags are extremely rare. This example is a 30cm Doblis Suede Birkin done in Amethyst purple with matching Swift leather handles, piping, and other accents, matched with Palladium hardware. Kept in immaculate condition, the bag maintains its original protective hardware plastic. This type of exceptional collector’s piece rarely comes to market, and it will likely be years before we see another.

Where used in this sale the term "hardware" refers to the metallic parts of the bag, such as the buckle hardware, base studs, lock and keys and/or strap, which are plated with a coloured finish (e.g. gold, silver, palladium). The terms "Gold Hardware", "Silver Hardware", "Palladium Hardware" etc. refer to the tone or colour of the hardware and not the actual material used. If the bag incorporates solid metal hardware this will be referenced in the lot description.
