The Faubourg Birkin reproduces the façade of 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Hermès' Paris flagship, in layered leather appliqué across the front panel. Windows, awnings, doors, and architectural moldings are constructed from multiple leather types and colors cut and assembled in relief, creating a three-dimensional surface that stands away from the bag's body. The result is a Birkin that functions as a built object rather than a flat surface.
The base leather is Barenia Faubourg in Ébène, a dark brown vegetable-tanned calfskin that develops patina over time. Barenia Faubourg is a refined version of classic Barenia with a smoother hand. Sellier construction with exterior stitching and rigid edges. Palladium hardware. The Faubourg Birkin was produced beginning around 2019 in a small number of colorways including Ébène, Snow, and Midnight. A stamp, 2017 production. Pristine condition. Full set.
