The story behind the Birkin
Originated in 1984 from a conversation between Jane Birkin and Hermès Executive Chairman Jean-Louis Dumas; its structural lineage traces to the Haut à Courroies. Familiar sizes are 25, 30, 35 and 40 cm, alongside miniature, shoulder and travel versions, in both Retourné and Sellier construction.

On Togo the pebbled grain catches the pigment unevenly, so the color reads with depth and movement rather than as a flat block, which is what keeps a saturated green wearable at this scale.
The 25 is the most compact of the standard Birkin sizes. Interior is lined in matching Chèvre with one zip pocket and one open pocket. Palladium hardware keeps the metal cool against the warm green.

Bambou is a saturated green Hermès produces in intermittent cycles rather than as a standing palette color, so availability arrives in clusters and then stops. Togo carries it with depth the flatter grains cannot, since the pebbled surface catches the pigment unevenly.
