Hermès Pochette Rio Nuage Black Box & Multicolor Lizard - 1990
The period from 1986 to 1990 saw some of the most spectacular, creative, and unusual bags emerge from the Hermès atelier. Among those were the Nuage or "cloud" bags, which featured leather bodies peppered with geometric cutouts through which came bright, multicolor lizard pieces with black lizard accents. The visual effect is stunning, and the level of craftsmanship involved is astounding. This example applies the Nuage aesthetic to a classic Pochette Rio clutch: simple slip flap clutch with a snap closure Hermès produced for decades. Paired with a Vert Clair Chevre interior, this bag is as vibrant and exciting as it was when it was produced almost thirty years ago in 1990.
