Nata forms the body in warm cream, with Mauve Sylvestre carried to the arms and feet, Lime holding the pixelated eyes and smile, and Chai on the detachable backpack pouch. Set against the Mauve Sylvestre body edition, which runs the same four colors in a different order, the lighter ground changes the read completely: the pastel accents register as punctuation rather than sitting tone on tone against lilac.

The Picto is the pixelated reissue of Jean-Louis Dumas's 2000 Kelly Doll, redrawn in 8-bit geometry in place of the original's curved leather cuts. Every pixel is cut, edge-painted and set by hand, and the junctions where four or five blocks meet are the hardest part of the construction. A removable shoulder strap and a detachable backpack pouch clip to the body, neither of which the original Quelle Idole carried.

The 2023 stamp places this in the first full year of Picto output after the 2022 launch, which opened in Mauve Sylvestre and Nata bodies before further colorways followed. Comparing a Nata body against a Mauve Sylvestre body shows how the same four-color palette produces a different object depending on which color takes the body position. Kelly Dolls are collected as objets rather than carried, and most examples never leave their boxes.

Resale Insight:
Kelly Dolls trade on their own terms, disconnected from standard Kelly pricing, because the buyer is acquiring a runway object rather than a bag to use. Each colorway runs in small quantities and is retired without announcement, so supply within a palette is fixed the moment the run closes. Pristine condition with the full set and the backpack intact is the expected baseline in this category.
