A first-generation Kelly Doll Quelle Idole produced for the SOGO Hong Kong boutique opening, finished in 5P Bubblegum Pink Swift with brown contrast feet. Designed by Jean-Louis Dumas in 2000, the Quelle Idole translated the Kelly silhouette into anthropomorphic form, with face features, articulated arms, splayed feet, the curved mouth and round crystal-ball eyes that define the original design.
Boutique-edition Kelly Dolls were produced in extremely small allocations for specific Hermès retail openings and brand events, distinct from standard first-generation Kelly Doll production. The SOGO Hong Kong edition sits at the rarer end of these boutique releases. 5P Bubblegum Pink is itself a tightly allocated Hermès pink, and Swift leather variants of the original Quelle Idole are scarcer than the Gulliver counterparts more commonly documented in the archive.
Swift is the leather most associated with saturated color hold in Hermès production. The smooth, fine-grained calfskin absorbs dye with high vibrancy and reads cleanly across the doll silhouette without competing for visual attention. The JaneFinds Beaded Semi-Precious Stone Crossbody Chain is hand-knotted from up to 60 varieties of natural semi-precious stones strung between lobster-clasp hardware at each end. The clasp configuration attaches directly to the sangle hardware of Hermès bags and converts the bag to crossbody or shoulder wear. The chain also functions independently as a long necklace without a bag attached.
Documented stone varieties include amethyst, apatite, carnelian, citrine, emerald, labradorite, lemon quartz, peach moonstone, peridot, Peruvian opal, pink moonstone, prehnite, rose quartz, ruby, sunstone, and tourmaline.
