Kellywood is the rigid-architecture Kelly format Hermès produces in solid wood rather than leather. The body is hand-shaped from solid wood, hollowed for interior capacity, and finished with the front panel carrying the artistic composition while the side panels remain in the wood's natural grain. Closure is achieved through two hand-knotted Barenia leather toggles seated into the wooden side panel rather than the standard Kelly turn-lock-and-strap configuration, since the wood construction does not accept the wraparound sangle system used on leather Kellys.
The Perspective Cavalière motif is a multicolor geometric composition designed for this edition that translates the architectural drawing technique of the same name (a parallel-projection method used in technical illustration) into a kaleidoscopic graphic rendering of "PARIS" embedded within the geometry. The palette runs across rose, magenta, jade, sky blue, vermillion, blackberry, and pale pink in cleanly bounded planes that reference Bauhaus-era abstraction and mid-century French graphic design. The flap and handle are crafted in Fauve Barenia, the house's saddle leather, with the white saddle stitching reading as deliberately graphic against the warm cognac ground. Palladium hardware reads cool against the warm Barenia and the saturated multicolor panel.
