Kelly Doll Quelle Idole in Rouge Vif Gulliver with Palladium hardware. Original Year 2000 millennium release. Same construction as the Orange H edition: the Kelly's turnlock reads as a nose, the sangles become articulated arms, sculpted feet let it stand upright. Handheld only, no strap. Rouge Vif is a pure, high-saturation red with no blue or orange pull. On Gulliver the color lands with a density and evenness that later leathers handle differently. Gulliver was discontinued shortly after this production run, so the leather itself is as much a part of the collectible as the design.
Condition 2 on a 25-year-old Gulliver piece means this has been handled. Gulliver shows contact more readily than Swift or Epsom; it's a soft, smooth leather that records its history. The fact that it reads Excellent at this age indicates attentive storage with limited exposure.

Collector's Insight: Rouge Vif was one of eight colorways in the original 2000 Kelly Doll launch. Red Kelly Dolls have historically traded below pink examples (Rose Sakura holds the auction record at over $95,000) but above neutral tones like Noisette. The first generation was produced entirely in Gulliver leather across all colorways, and the total production window closed by 2005. Rouge Vif in Gulliver has not been replicated in the Picto reissue, which uses Epsom exclusively.
Resale Insight: First-generation Kelly Dolls have averaged close to $45,000 at auction in recent years. Rouge Vif sits in the middle of the color hierarchy: more desirable than the brown and green colorways, less than the pinks. Excellent condition rather than pristine is typical for original-run pieces that have been in private collections for two decades. Includes will affect final positioning; full set commands a meaningful premium over bag-only examples at this level.
