The story behind the Kelly Danse
Designed by Jean Paul Gaultier and introduced in 2008, discontinued in 2013 and reintroduced in 2019 as the Kelly Danse II. An adjustable strap lets it be carried as a clutch, on the shoulder, crossbody, at the waist or as a backpack.
Niloticus Lizard has a tight, symmetrical scale pattern with a glossy finish that amplifies color saturation. Menthe is a fresh, vivid mint green. Gold hardware warms the cool green body. The Kelly Danse is a transformable design worn as a crossbody, shoulder, backpack, belt bag, hand carry, or clutch by adjusting the single long strap through the Kelly-style handle. Exotic Kelly Danse bags are among the rarest specifications in the Hermès production program. Lizard is the most limited of the three main exotic skins Hermès uses, with lower annual hide allocation than crocodile or ostrich. Menthe on Shiny Niloticus Lizard produces a jewel-like surface where the gloss finish and tight scale pattern intensify the green saturation. A Kelly Danse in any exotic is an extremely low-volume production piece.
