Menthe sits apart from the house's standard greens. Where Bambou reads warm and Malachite reads deep, Menthe carries a blue undertone that pulls it toward turquoise, and Togo is the leather that keeps it from shouting: the grain is matte, so it absorbs light rather than throwing it back, and the pigment reads as depth instead of glare.

Retourne construction stitches the seams on the inside, which rounds the edges and lets the bag soften as it is carried. That suits a grained leather. Togo takes the slouch as character rather than as structure giving way, which is the opposite of how a rigid Sellier build would age.

Palladium is the right metal against this pigment. Gold would warm it toward yellow and work against the blue cast that makes the color what it is.

Collector's Insight: Menthe is unusual within the green range: it sits between turquoise and mint rather than in the pastel family, which is why collectors measure it against Vert Criquet and Vert Comics rather than against the standard greens. Hermès has never kept it in continuous production. It returns for an occasional season, as it did for Spring/Summer 2021, then goes quiet again, so supply arrives in bursts rather than steadily.

Resale Insight: A vivid green narrows the buyer pool against a neutral like Gold or Étoupe, but it narrows the alternatives just as sharply. A buyer set on this shade in the 28 has few other places to look, and the 28 is the size most often bought to be carried rather than kept for occasions.
