Rouge Casaque takes its name from the racing silks worn in a stable's colors. It reads as a true red, clean and slightly cool, without the orange lean of Rouge Pivoine or the depth of Rouge de Coeur. That neutrality is why it sits against both cool and warm wardrobes, and why it has stayed in the permanent palette instead of rotating out with a season.
Epsom is the leather that carries it. The fine pressed grain holds pigment at full saturation rather than diffusing it the way a softer hide does, and it resists the scuffing and slow slouch that soften other calfskins. It is what the house reaches for when a bag has to hold its architecture.
At twenty-eight centimeters the Kelly carries a full day without the presence of the 32. Sellier construction turns the seams outward and pipes them, which produces the crisper edge and the upright stance, and it is the harder of the two to execute. It appears in smaller numbers than Retourne, and the secondary market has priced that consistently. Gold warms the red where palladium would cool it.

Collector's Insight: Rouge Casaque is a permanent-palette color, so the scarcity argument is not the color. It is the intersection. The house sends most of its Sellier output to neutrals and most of its saturated reds to Retourne, which leaves this combination thinner than any one of its attributes suggests.
Resale Insight: Sellier carries a consistent premium over Retourne in equivalent configurations. Against that, a saturated red addresses a narrower buyer than Noir or Étoupe and takes longer to place. Rouge Casaque is the most wearable of the reds, which shortens that gap without closing it.
