The story behind the Kelly
Created in the 1930s by Robert Dumas as a women's bag with straps: a trapezoid with two triangular gussets, a cutout flap, a handle and two side straps. It took the Kelly name in 1956, when Grace Kelly made it famous. Sellier construction keeps the seams on the outside for a more defined outline; Retourné construction turns them inside for softer edges. The leather does not decide the construction: Box calf Kellys are recorded in both.

Sellier construction gives the Kelly 25 its sharpest lines, with outward-stitched edges and rigid panels, and Epsom is firm enough to hold them. Dark edge paint outlines the gussets, the flap and the handle against the pale blue, while the stitching stays tonal.
The clochette is Bleu Céleste, the padlock and the four feet are gold, and a matching shoulder strap with gold clasps converts the bag from hand to shoulder.

Bleu Céleste is a seasonal color rather than a permanent one, offered in a limited range of leathers and sizes before rotating out, and Epsom is one of the most durable pairings for a light shade.
Resale Insight:
Pale blue shows color transfer from dark clothing readily, so buyers check the back panel and corners, along with the handle and flap edge.
