Hermès Kelly 25 Retourné Rose Sakura Swift Palladium Hardware

Hermès Kelly 25 Retourné Rose Sakura Swift Palladium Hardware

The Kelly 25 Retourné is the rounded-edge interpretation of the Kelly silhouette, with panels stitched inside-out then turned to conceal seams and produce the softer, less architectural reading associated with the format. Rose Sakura is a delicate cherry-blossom pink with subtle warmth, named for the Japanese flowering cherry and rendered most cleanly on Hermès' finer-grain leathers.

Swift is a fine-grain calfskin with a subtle satin sheen, softer and more pigment-receptive than the structural Epsom and more responsive to color saturation than the grained Togo. Rose Sakura on Swift reads as soft powder-pink with a luminous quality that the smoother leather surface produces against light, holding the color cleanly without the matte broken-up reading that grained surfaces deliver. Palladium hardware reads as cool silver-tone against the warm pale pink, anchoring the piece with the lighter hardware register Hermès typically pairs with delicate color palettes. Interior lined in tonal matching leather with one zip pocket and two slip pockets.

Collector's Insight:
Rose Sakura entered Hermès' color program in the mid-2010s, was discontinued for several years across the late 2010s, then returned to seasonal production beginning Spring/Summer 2021. The T (2015) stamp on this piece places it within the original production cycle that preceded the late-2010s discontinuation — pre-discontinuation Rose Sakura production is the smaller and earlier of the two color-cycle segments, predating Hermès' broader pink color rotation announcements that drove demand toward the color in subsequent years. The color is most commonly produced in Hermès' softer leathers (Swift, Chèvre, Jonathan) where the fine grain holds the pale pink saturation cleanly without breaking up the visual surface. T (2015) also marks the first production year of the modern no-shape stamp era, transitioning out of the square-stamp format that ran 1997–2014.

Resale Insight:
Rose Sakura examples trade at a premium over Hermès' year-round pink color production due to discontinued/seasonal availability cycles, with valuation responsive to production timing within the color's history. Original-cycle pre-discontinuation production occupies a more restricted segment than post-2021 return-era production, with the additional decade-plus of time elapsed since manufacture establishing the piece as documented archival inventory rather than current cycle. Kelly 25 across leather types remains the most active size in the current Kelly secondary market. Excellent condition with plastic intact on all hardware, no Swift surface scratching, no color transfer at handle bridle points, and full original packaging commands the strongest positioning. Swift's smooth surface holds Excellent condition more readily than grained leathers when stored unused but shows fingernail scratches and edge wear more visibly with carry.
