Hermès Jige Elan 29 Rose Scheherazade Shiny Porosus Crocodile
Hermès Jige Elan 29 Rose Scheherazade Shiny Porosus Crocodile
Rose Scheherazade is a vivid hot-pink with a violet undercurrent, named after the storyteller of One Thousand and One Nights. The color sits between Rose Tyrien and Magnolia in the Hermès pink range, brighter than Rose Pourpre and warmer than Fuchsia. On shiny Porosus the high-gloss finish amplifies the saturation, with the pigment pooling between scales and catching maximum light across the polished tile surface.
Porosus crocodile is identifiable by the caret symbol (^) beside the Hermès stamp and is the most refined crocodilian skin in the Hermès catalog: smaller and more symmetrical scales than Niloticus, with tighter pattern consistency. The shiny finish is achieved through agate-stone buffing. The Jige Elan is the long clutch silhouette designed by Jean Guerrand, with the H-tab flap closure and no metal hardware.

Collector's Insight: Rose Scheherazade is a documented Hermès pink that cycles in and out of the palette rather than appearing in standard rotation, and the color in shiny Porosus represents the convergence of a cycling exotic pink with the most tightly allocated crocodile species. Jiges in Porosus are produced in smaller quantities than Niloticus or alligator equivalents because Porosus allocation prioritizes Birkin and Kelly production. Saturated pinks in shiny Porosus trade in a specific collector lane focused on exotic pink production across the catalog.
Resale Insight: Shiny Porosus Jiges in cycling pinks hold value above standard exotic pink production because the color cannot be requested through current allocation. Pristine condition matters disproportionately on shiny exotics, which show handling marks more readily than matte finishes, and well-stored examples represent the top of the market for the specification.
