Horseshoe Stamp (HSS) special order Kelly Pochette in Rose Azalee Swift leather with Rose Mexico contrast stitching and Rose Mexico interior. Gold hardware. The exterior is Rose Azalee ; a bright, warm pink with coral undertones, introduced by Hermès in the Fall/Winter 2015 season. Swift leather renders this color with full saturation; the fine-grained calfskin absorbs dye evenly, producing a consistent, luminous surface across all panels.
The HSS specification is visible in two details: the contrast stitching and the interior color. Rose Mexico ; a deeper, more saturated magenta pink ; outlines every seam on the exterior, giving the architectural panels of the Kelly Pochette a graphic edge that tonal stitching would not provide. The interior is lined in Rose Mexico, creating a visible color shift when the flap is opened. Gold hardware ; the sangles, toggle, and flat top handle fittings ; reads warm against both pinks. The Kelly Pochette is a structured clutch in the Kelly family ; same sangles, toggle closure, and flap construction as the full-size Kelly, scaled to 22 cm with a flat top handle replacing the rolled handle and shoulder strap. Unlike the Kelly Cut (a flat, envelope-style clutch), the Pochette has a gusseted base that allows it to stand upright. HSS Kelly Pochettes are uncommon because most clients allocate their special order slots to Birkins or full-size Kellys. This example pairs two pinks from different ends of the Hermès spectrum: Rose Azalee (warm, coral-leaning, FW2015) and Rose Mexico (bright magenta, FW2020). Rose Mexico has been produced intermittently rather than as a continuous catalog color. Swift leather on the Kelly Pochette takes color well but marks more readily than textured leathers ; scratches on Swift are visible and cannot be buffed out, though they tend to blend over time with wear.
