The In and Out Birkin is the limited-edition Birkin Hermès introduced for Fall/Winter 2021 under Véronique Nichanian's men's collection direction, applying an X-ray-style illustration printed across the bag's exterior in fine line drawing that depicts what would otherwise be hidden inside: shoe, lipstick, dust bag, pencil, coin purse, all rendered in orange contour line work across the front panel. The conceptual reversal of exterior showing interior contents was a notable departure from standard Birkin design conventions and positioned the piece as one of the most narratively distinctive limited editions in recent Birkin production. Blanc is the cool optical white that Hermès produces selectively, brighter and cleaner than Craie or Nata with no warm undertones to soften the brightness. The pure white ground intensifies the orange line work to maximum visual contrast, making the Blanc colorway the most graphically explicit of the In and Out variants.
