The story behind the Birkin
Originated in 1984 from a conversation between Jane Birkin and Hermès Executive Chairman Jean-Louis Dumas; its structural lineage traces to the Haut à Courroies. Familiar sizes are 25, 30, 35 and 40 cm, alongside miniature, shoulder and travel versions, in both Retourné and Sellier construction.
Discover Hermès Birkin BagsÉtain is a cool pewter gray that reads silvery in cool light and settles into a matte dove gray in shade. On Togo the color sits deep in the pebbled grain, the raised texture catching the pigment unevenly for a depth flatter leathers do not give.
Palladium hardware keeps leather and metal in the same cool register, and at 25 cm the Birkin carries the neutral in a compact frame.
