Hermès Kellygraphie 28 Sellier ‘H’ Lettre Vert Cypres Epsom, Blue Obscur Sombrero & Malachite Clemence Palladium Hardware

The Hermès Kellygraphie 28 is a technical masterpiece of leather marquetry, representing a sharp departure from traditional single-material construction. Introduced circa 2018, this limited edition series features geometric letters inspired by a 1930s Art Deco alphabet from the Hermès archives. This specific example features the letter "H"—arguably the most desirable graphic in the series—rendered through the precise inlay of three distinct leathers.

The body is constructed from rigid Vert Cypres Epsom, a deep, blackened green that provides the structural Sellier frame. The graphic elements are composed of Blue Obscur Sombrero (a rare, matte calfskin with a velvety hand) and Malachite Clemence (a vibrant, grained mineral green). The seamless joining of these diverse textures—rigid Epsom, matte Sombrero, and grained Clemence—demonstrates a level of craftsmanship typically reserved for bespoke marquetry furniture. Finished with Palladium Hardware, the result is a sophisticated study in dark, cool tones.

JaneFinds Collector's Insight:
The Kellygraphie series was produced to spell out "H-E-R-M-E-S" (and later special ordered for other letters). Collectors often attempt to complete the set, but individual letters stand alone as graphic art pieces. The "H" is the anchor of the collection. The use of Sombrero leather is a notable detail; it is rarely used in modern production and adds a unique, soft matte texture that contrasts sharply with the glazed finish of the Epsom.

JaneFinds Market Insight:
"Art" Kellys (like the Kellygraphie, Colormatic, and Au Galop) occupy a sophisticated tier in the resale market. They are valued by design-focused collectors who prioritize visual uniqueness over standard "Quota Bag" status. While less liquid than a standard Gold Togo Kelly, pristine Kellygraphie pieces command significant premiums due to their limited production run and their status as modern archival designs.
