Hermès Kelly 35 Sellier Black Elephant Hide Gold Hardware
The Hermès Kelly 35 in Elephant hide with Gold Hardware is an incredibly rare find, making it a coveted piece for collectors. Currently, it's the only one of its kind available, underscoring its uniqueness since Hermès items in Elephant skin are almost non-existent. The bag's beautiful rich black Elephant skin originates from an African safari in the 1980s. Along with its historical significance, this bag is in excellent pre-loved condition and includes accessories such as lock, keys, clochette, and a sleeper. Its design, known as the Sellier, is distinctively boxy and structured, differing from the Retourne with its visible topstitching, absence of exterior piping, and sharper edges. Notably, the Sellier's craftsmanship involves intricate steps making it appear larger than a Retourne of the same size and rarer in availability.
The term "hardware" refers to the metallic parts of the bag, such as the buckle hardware, base studs, lock and keys and/or strap, which are plated with a colored finish (e.g. gold, silver, palladium). The terms refer to the tone or color of the hardware and not the actual material used. If hardware is composed of precious solid metals this will be referenced in the description.
