The proportions shift: wider than tall, compressed height, elongated base. The format tucks under the arm rather than hanging from the hand. Forty-two centimeters, the original JPG size, with hardware configuration distinct from the later JPG II that followed.
Rose Tyrien Shiny Porosus Crocodile with Palladium hardware. Rose Tyrien is Hermès's saturated fuchsia-magenta—one of the most vivid pinks the house produces. On shiny Porosus, the color gains intensity; the high-gloss finish reflects light across each scale, amplifying saturation. Porosus (Crocodylus porosus, marked with ∙) shows finer, more uniform scales than American alligator. Interior lined in Fuchsia Chèvre. Palladium hardware cools the warm pink slightly.
