Hermès Kelly 25 Sellier Ombre Lizard Palladium Hardware - 2010, N Square
Among Hermès exotic bags, Lizard Birkins and Kellys are the rarest, produced in extremely small numbers. Among Hermès Lizard bags, those with Ombre coloration are their own distinct category, considered by many well above the rest. These bags, which display the natural gray rings of the lizard skin against a background of cream scales that ombre’s towards the sides, are visually similar to the famous Himalayan crocodile bags. The pattern on each bag is unique, with some sporting different amounts of more or less distinct rings. Older examples are known to yellow if not properly cared for, but this example, a 25cm Ombre Lizard Kelly from 2010, has not, having been kept unused and properly stored for the last decade. It features the matching Palladium hardware, and is a prime example, dotted heavily with distinct rings. In recent years these bags have shot up in popularity, and now rarely change hands.
