The original Birkin Sellier. Before Hermès refined the format into the 25 and 30cm sizes that arrived in 2019, there was this: the 40cm Vache Hunter Sellier, introduced in 2014. External stitching, rigid panels, the same construction logic as Sellier Kelly—but with distinct differences from later iterations. The interior is unlined, with a tethered zip pouch rather than the integrated pockets of standard Birkins. Hardware stitching on the face shows a different pattern. This was the prototype that proved the concept.
Noir Vache Hunter with Palladium hardware. Vache Hunter is a sturdy, matte leather with visible grain—workwear heritage rather than polished refinement. It was selected specifically for this experimental format; the leather's durability suited the unlined construction. Forty centimeters is travel size—the largest standard Birkin dimension, designed for overnight capacity rather than daily carry.
