Hermès Birkin 35 Shiny Blue Roi Porosus Crocodile & Denim Palladium Hardware
Hermes Shiny Blue Roi Porosus Crocodile & Denim 35cm Birkin Bag with Palladium Hardware, 2001
This bag is done in shiny Blue Roi Porosus Crocodile with an unusual blue denim body. It features two rolled crocodile handles, a flap and turnlock closure, and Palladium hardware. This Birkin is a gem for serious collectors. The combination of exotic skins with canvas or denim is extremely unusual, and this sophisticated blue combination is the only example to have come to market. Blue Roi, or 'Royal Blue' in French is one of the rarest and most desirable shades of blue, only produced in the early 2000's. An extremely special exotic bag like this from Hermes will always feature exceptional skins with small square and symmetrical scales. Unlike other canvas bags from this period which have simplified interiors, this one in fully finished with Blue Roi Chevre lining, one zip pocket, and one suede lined slip pocket. It includes a lock, two keys and a matching clochette.
The term "hardware" refers to the metallic parts of the bag, such as the buckle hardware, base studs, lock and keys and/or strap, which are plated with a colored finish (e.g. gold, silver, palladium). The terms refer to the tone or color of the hardware and not the actual material used. If hardware is composed of precious solid metals this will be referenced in the description.
