Twenty centimeters in Sellier construction, Rouge Vif Lizard with Gold-plated hardware. This is the original Mini Kelly format, the Kelly 20 I, produced before Hermès introduced the modern Mini Kelly II. Sellier on Lizard requires the craftsperson to fold rigid exotic skin into precise outward-stitched edges with no margin for error; the scale pattern must align across every seam. The result is architectural where Retourné is soft.
Rouge Vif on Lizard reads differently than on smooth leather: the scales fragment light across the surface, giving the color visible depth and shift. Gold-plated hardware warms the red further. Vintage-era top handle with longer proportions than current production. Original 89 cm shoulder strap with period-correct hardware attachment. Interior lined in matching red leather. Four base feet.
