The leather has a soft brushed nap that catches light differently than smooth grains, producing a velvet-like surface that responds to direction and pressure with visible variation. Standard Grizzly Birkin construction pairs the suede body with Swift leather trim and handles. Swift's structural integrity is required to hold rigid handle anchoring that suede alone cannot support. Gold is the warm cognac-tan Hermès has produced since the 1960s, reading particularly rich on the textured Grizzly nap where the brushed fibers catch and amplify the warm pigment.
