Released in 2018, this limited edition collaboration translates Nigel Peake’s architectural drawing language onto Swift leather through a factory-applied print. The composition moves through geometric figures, stripes, and a stylized sailboat motif, with burgundy, canary yellow, navy, forest green, red, black, and white carrying across the flap, handles, sangles, gussets, and base. The print is not hand-painted or applied as marquetry. It is embedded into the leather surface as part of Hermès production.
Peake’s work for Hermès began in two-dimensional formats, including scarves and visual installations, before entering one of the house’s most restricted leather goods formats. On the Birkin 25, the artwork becomes architectural rather than decorative. Swift gives the print a smooth, tight surface, while Palladium hardware keeps the metalwork neutral against the full-wrap color field. Interior is lined in Bleu Saphir Swift with contrast stitching. C stamp places production in 2018.
