Hermès Picotin Lock 18 Jaune Bourgeon Matte Alligator Palladium Hardware
Jaune Bourgeon is a luminous spring yellow that reaches its fullest expression on matte alligator, where the unbuffed surface absorbs light and lets the scale relief carry the color rather than a shine.

The story behind the Picotin Lock
A supple, bucket-like bag closed by a leather strap and padlock; a picotin is a measure of oats for a horse. Lining, handles and accessories vary by size and edition.
Read the Picotin Lock referenceThe Picotin Lock 18 is the smallest of the bucket format, lined in lambskin with the signature lock closure at the top.
Exotic Picotins are produced in far smaller numbers than their leather counterparts, and a saturated seasonal yellow narrows the run further. Pair it with a JANEFINDS Cuban Link Chain to convert it to shoulder or crossbody carry.
Collector's Insight:
Matte alligator allocation is among the most restricted in the house, and the Picotin receives a fraction of what the Birkin and Kelly lines do. A seasonal yellow on exotic skin is a narrow run within an already narrow program.
Resale Insight:
Exotic Picotins trade to collectors who already hold the core bags and are adding format variety rather than to first-time buyers. A saturated yellow narrows the audience further, which makes the piece harder to replace once sold than a neutral equivalent.
