Hermès HAC Birkin 32 Parchemin Ostrich & Toile Palladium Hardware

Parchemin is a pale, warm parchment tone reading as a muted cream-beige across the ostrich body. Ostrich is identified by the characteristic quill-follicle texture from extracted feathers, with the surface raised in a regular pattern of dimples that catches light differently from any leather alternative. The Toile canvas panels provide a lighter-weight contrast to the ostrich, with the natural canvas tone sitting close enough to the Parchemin that the two materials blend rather than contrast.

The HAC (Haut à Courroies) is the historical predecessor to the Birkin, with taller proportions, longer handles, and a vertical silhouette that sits the bag differently on the body. Ostrich-and-Toile HACs were produced in small quantities in the early 2000s as a lighter-weight summer specification, and the combination is no longer part of standard production.

The HAC is the historical precursor to the Birkin and remains in production at a fraction of Birkin volumes.
