Hermès Birkin 25 Braise Porosus Crocodile Gold Hardware

The Hermès Birkin 25 in Braise Porosus Crocodile with Gold Hardware is a vintage exotic from the mid-2000s production era. Porosus crocodile (saltwater crocodile) features smaller, more symmetrical scales than alligator—the pattern is tighter and more uniform across the skin. Braise is a deep brick red with brown undertones—darker than Rouge H, warmer than Rouge Sellier. The glossy finish creates depth in the red tone.

The 25cm Birkin is the smallest standard size in regular production. This example was produced in 2005 with Square I stamp and is in Excellent condition showing minimal wear for a 20-year-old exotic bag. Gold hardware provides warm tonal harmony with the red leather. CITES documentation required for exotic skins.

JaneFinds Collector's Insight:
Porosus crocodile Birkins from 2005 represent pre-CITES restriction production when exotic bag manufacturing was less regulated than current standards. The Square I stamp places this in an era when exotic Birkin 25s were less common than 30cm or 35cm sizes. Braise in Porosus creates particularly rich saturation due to how the glossy scales hold color. Excellent condition at 20 years indicates careful storage and minimal use. Vintage exotics require more maintenance than newer pieces but appeal to collectors seeking bags from specific production eras.

JaneFinds Market Insight:
Vintage exotic Birkins (pre-2010) trade at different price points than current-year exotics—typically lower due to age but valued by collectors seeking specific eras. The 25cm size in Porosus commands premiums due to rarity of this size/skin combination. Braise appeals to collectors seeking bold reds rather than neutral exotics. Excellent condition at this age is notable and supports stronger pricing than good or fair condition equivalents. CITES documentation is essential and affects marketability—bags without proper documentation face significant sales restrictions. This targets exotic collectors rather than first-time luxury buyers.
