Kelly 25 Retourne in Malachite Matte Alligator with Gold hardware. Malachite is a deep, complex green ; darker than Vert Emeraude, warmer than Vert Cypress. In matte alligator, each scale catches light independently, creating tonal variation across the panels that no flat-grain leather can produce.
Matte alligator has a soft hand and no surface coating to crack or peel. The finish is achieved by tumbling the skin without a final glaze ; the result is lower sheen, more texture, and greater resilience to everyday contact than lisse (glazed) alligator. Retourne construction turns the seams inward, rounding the Kelly's edges and giving it a softer silhouette than Sellier. At 25 cm, the proportions read compact. Gold hardware against the dark green reads as warm and deliberate.

Kelly 25 in exotic skin requires matching scale pattern across a smaller surface area ; every cut is visible, and the craftsperson has fewer panels to work with than in a 28 or 32. Matte alligator is selected for uniform scale size and symmetry, then tumbled to achieve the unglazed finish. Malachite as a color has been retired from Hermès production, and exotic skins in retired colors do not reappear. This is a 2019 D stamp ; late enough in the color's lifecycle that fewer were produced in this combination.
