At the house's petit h workshops, artisans turn the usual design process around: instead of starting with a concept and then finding materials to match, they begin with existing materials and let their textures, colors and forms suggest new pieces. The approach produces one-of-a-kind pieces or very limited editions, shown at the Hermès boutique on Rue de Sèvres in Paris and occasionally in Hermès stores elsewhere.
The Grand Prix bag reads as a fusion of the Evelyne TPM en désordre, with its asymmetric cuts and construction, and the Arçon, with its key ring and outer pocket, and it makes generous use of horsehair.

petit h works from existing materials, so each design is effectively unrepeatable.
