The story behind the Kelly Longue
The Kelly Longue name covers two pieces: the long Kelly wallet, with the flap and turn-lock of the bag (Ghillies versions appeared in 2015), and an earlier clutch with a trapezoidal shape that recalls the original bag, slightly wider than the Kelly Cut that replaced it around 2008.
Discover Wallets, Clutches, PochettesThe Ghillies treatment applies brogue-style perforated and serrated edging to the Kelly Wallet format, adding dimensional detail to the flap and strap. Swift's smooth, fine grain provides a clean surface for the precision toolwork. Rose Sakura is a soft, cool-toned pink. Palladium hardware keeps the palette light.
Inside are a zippered coin compartment, card slots and bill pockets, and the flap closes with the Kelly turn-lock.
Collector's Insight:
The Ghillies treatment was applied to Kelly Wallets in limited production alongside the Ghillies Birkin and Kelly bag releases. Rose Sakura has returned across many Hermès seasons, so the Ghillies treatment is the scarcer element in this wallet. Swift is the standard leather for Ghillies detailing due to its fine grain.
