The story behind the Kelly Élan
The original Kelly clutch of the house's modern history: an early-2000s format with a flat base and a rear sangle hand strap, preceding the Kelly Pochette, Kelly Longue and Kelly Cut. Hermès brought it back on its Spring 2023 runway, with a removable shoulder strap.

On Veau Madame, the color reads slightly cooler than on Togo or Clemence due to Madame's finer, flatter grain and semi-matte surface. Veau Madame holds structure well, making it a natural match for the Élan's flat, rigid silhouette.
The Kelly Élan is a flat clutch-to-shoulder format with the Kelly's sangles and turnlock closure. A detachable shoulder strap snaps into the interior for crossbody or shoulder carry. The 2023 reintroduction added the strap that the original vintage Élan did not include. Gold hardware warms the neutral palette. Store fresh.
