Hermès Constance 18 Black Veau Monsieur & Ombré Lizard with Palladium Hardware
Hermès Constance 18 Black Monsieur & Ombré Lizard Palladium Hardware
The Hermès Constance bag was first designed by Catherine Chaillet in 1959 and was given the name in honor of her fifth child, Constance, having delivered the baby the same day that the first Constance left the Hermès production store. With its leather shoulder strap allowing the bag to hang freely, it soon became the favorite former First Lady of the United States, Jacqueline Kennedy who popularized the Constance amongst Hollywood’s elite. A very special Constance in black Veau Monsieur leather, with an Ombré Lizard H buckle.
The Constance features Hermès' signature H-clasp closure, one of the most recognizable hardware elements in the house's vocabulary. Interior is lined in matching leather with a center divider, front slip pocket, and rear slot pocket. The crossbody strap is adjustable.

JaneFinds Collector's Insight: Lizard production is constrained by raw material scarcity and limited annual output. Allocation within Hermès exotic bag production is among the most selective in the house.
JaneFinds Market Insight: Accessories in high-demand colors and materials like this continue to see strong performance on the secondary market due to limited boutique availability.
