Hermès Birkin Sellier 25 Vert Yucca Epsom Gold Hardware
Hermès Birkin Sellier 25 Vert Yucca Epsom Gold Hardware
Vert Yucca is a vibrant grass-green introduced by Hermès in Fall/Winter 2023 as part of the Astonishing Hermès collection, drawing its name from the yucca plant. The color reads as a clean saturated green with subtle warmth, deeper than Vert Criquet and sitting near the Bambou register without the same blue undertones.
The Birkin Sellier joined the main Birkin line in 2020, following earlier limited-edition Sellier constructions, making it the more recent of the two Birkin 25 formats after the original Retourné. Sellier construction stitches panels together with visible exterior saddle stitching, producing the crisp architectural silhouette that contrasts with the softer rounded edges of Retourné. Epsom is a fine-grain calfskin with a structural firmness that holds Sellier panel definition cleanly, with the embossed grid pattern catching light in a uniform, graphic register that flatter leathers like Swift suppress. Vert Yucca on Epsom reads as a clean saturated green with the grid grain producing dimensional surface depth. Gold hardware completes the warm register. Plastic intact on the hardware indicates the piece was stored largely unused.

Collector's Insight:
Birkin 25 is the most-pursued Birkin size in the current secondary market. Sellier construction in the 25 cm size is the rarer of the two production formats, with Retourné dominating the Birkin 25 catalog since the size's 2004 introduction. Vert Yucca is a recent palette addition with concentrated demand in the post-introduction allocation window.
Resale Insight:
Birkin Sellier 25 trades at a premium over Retourné 25 of equivalent specification due to the rarer construction. The B (2023) stamp aligns with Vert Yucca's first production year, giving the piece debut-cycle positioning within the color's secondary market. Excellent condition with plastic intact on the hardware, crisp Sellier panel edges, no Epsom corner whitening, and full original packaging commands the strongest positioning.
